Book Cover for "Never Let Me Go"

Term 2, book cover for "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Shiguro.

Rotoscope

In Term 1, I made a arthroscope image of myself, as a mermaid :3 ...Yup, even as a sea creature, I bet I'd still be wearing that sweater! Done in Illustrator.

Potential Logo: Re-Branding

We took part in a re-branding project this past term, and chose Kay's Delicatessen - a lovely deli, situated close to the college. This logo didn't become a part of our project, but I still like how it turned out.

Tilde, represents heat lines, as well as the "pause" symbol. For more information about this wonderful family-owned and opperated restaurant, visit their blog here at Kay's Delicatessen.

The Wandering Gypsy Market [Banner]

My sister's shop, which can be found on Etsy.com. Click here to view her company Facebook page.
She sells handmade purses and other fab things!

ZenGarden.com

With only having changed the CSS, here's my graphical contribution to ZenGraden.com - this was a lot of fun, not only in the creation process, but with the coding in general.

Mockup; Sliced and Ready for Action!

Created the mockup, sliced it up and coded in HTML/CSS.

Year 1 - Term 1 Works

I haven't posted much at all on my blog, so here are a few gems from my first year at Red River College, Digital Multimedia Technology - Year 1, Term 1.

Poster layout design: Buhler Centre

Logo for the St. James Assiniboia Senior Centre

I'm quite pleased with how this has turned out. My inspiration for this logo came to me, through the idea of the Lotus flower as being very vibrant and independent.

[RD.org - Oct. 24, 2010] - To Sleep, Perchance…

I had the creepiest dream last night! I’ve had quite the full day, so I’d forgotten about it, until this evening. It started out with all the characters from the new Harvest Moon game that I’ve been playing: Grand Bazaar – and I know it was them, because I saw sprite images of the twin children and their mother, being nearly swallowed up in death, on the big get away bus-like vessel.

Chapter One

It seemed as though the entire Harvest Moon cast was running from something, trying to escape from an entity so fierce, it made grown men lose all emotional control within the vessel. Much like the phantom forces in the Final Fantasy movie, this deadly creature swept through the bus in a zig zag pattern, leaving every character in the diagonal opposite seats, perished. To their dismay, there was no way that they could vanquish the terror that lunged after them in the darkness.

At one point, the main character [I believe it was a male], was trying to stay out of sight within this great mansion, while he searched for his lady love. (Again in pixel form…yes, I’m a nerd and I’m proud of it). At one point, he knew that the master of the house had spotted him, as his efforts to vanish quickly up the stairs left him with shoulders sticking out from the stairwell landing. Although, the master of the house did not advance. He did not have to, as he knew that the demonic creature loose on the horizon, would catch up with them eventually.

Unfortunately while in hunt, his lady love was in fact the daughter of the master. With having grown up in the building, he nearly wretched at the thought that he might have to search dozens of rooms until he found her – she has made home of every one.

He could hear her…the soft pattering of his foot steps nearly drown out the sound he sought – he knew she was close, as he continued quietly treading down the halls. It was of the greatest importance that he stayed silent and out of sight – for to protect his master, the wind howled beneath it’s great wings, soaring constantly between the intruders within the castle and the rescue mission drawing nearer, from the speeding bus.

Alas, once the feeling of a lifetime had passed, the hero confronted his lady love, from the cloak of darkness. All her maids had left momentarily, as they spoke.

You must come with us, fair maiden,” he breathed as his heart furiously raced. “We have no other hope in destroying that foul creature, if you are not a part of our plans.”

She sighed ponderously, as she let her gaze drift towards the chamber window. Light velvet curtains blew gently as the wind seemed to animate the anxiousness in them all. “You do know, kind sir,” she whispered. “The possibility lies in which I may not return. Who then, will carry on the reign in this land?

A cross look jetted across his brow, as he gently grabbed hold of her wrist. “Milady, this appears to be our only chance of restoring the kingdom…Wouldst thou rather be queen of a ghastly land with no people?
We have come far to enlist in your services, my dear…one chance doth permit us light unto certain darkness. This yarn I follow, in your foot steps, milady. I will follow you, wherever direction thou wind may blow.

Her heart ached. Once having unleashed this nightmare creature, certainty lay within her mind, the battle would be as fruitless as trying to stop a freight train using a feather. From having traveled as far as the clan had, more than half of their men, women and children had perished, by the translucent hand of the beast. A fast lesson, it was, for the children who were not able to bury their parents, as their lives depended only on the steady continuation of the journey forward. Not one crew member knew what lied beyond their path. With only a distant feeling in the back of each mind, carelessly whispering confirmation, this would be the longest night of their lives.

"Amidst this grotesque light, it waits..
Solemn anguish wanes from brow–
Unto the hearts, of shortened fates,
Ours are heavy, yet unbowed.

I’ve often frightened dreams, love,
Of whence they float away.
While buried deep in mind, love,
My heart knows, here they lay."

Shutting Down

Yup, it's time to get rid of that web store -- I don't have the time to promote it properly; I'd rather be pursuing my education. Maybe I'll keep the digital scrapbook designing on the back burner, for when I need something fun to do? :3 That would make me smile, how I enjoy making those kits and products!

I'll post a few of the [rubydragon.org] blog posts here, other than that, I'm going to keep this site open, and it shall remain the only one.

Back to Normal in the Attic...

Yes, I'm feeling much more "myself," today -- not sure what the heck happened this past week...maybe I missed working? *shrugs* Who knows, really. Between the full moon, sugar withdrawal and back-to-school, it could have been an amalgamation of these. Yes, I'm trying to cut out sugar completely - why not? There are natural sugars found in fruit and vegetables, why get carried away?

I've also been pondering shutting down my website + store -- it's been a fun ride, but I need to start concentrating more on my major, start leaving some of these "wants" in the dust; work on the "needs" for now.
