How about being taken back to what you all ready know, with someone you don't?Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.comBlogger97125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-82111018754772818742011-07-24T14:15:00.002-05:002011-07-24T14:23:07.671-05:00Decisionsaah, decisions. it's amazing how we can pre-condition our thoughts to the point where we're believing what we're telling ourselves. for years, i've been telling myself one thing €and completely engaging myself in some other direction ... a more interesting choice. unconscious decisions are more of what is speaking to us in true form. just because you tell yourself that you're a failure, doesn't mean that you are. as human beings, we are so used to talking; with talking comes telling ourselves what to do, giving orders, issuing commands. but at the end of the day, what is our true feel good outcome: what really makes us feel great. what do i want in life? i have a wonderful opportunity to do which i know will bring me closer to a happier, more fulfilling existance. my heart has decided. it is now time to issue the most important, life altering decision upon my mind. it's alright :)Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-60431482545362416522011-06-21T15:04:00.003-05:002011-06-21T15:07:43.268-05:00How Many DaysThis is precisely how many days I've been "out of it" this summer. Well, it's finally the first day of summer today, but since I've been out of school since the end of April, it technically is summer to me :)

I haven't been feeling well at all lately. I've been feeling my confidence waver as the job market continues to turn down it's nose at me <:( I really do miss having a job; further more, I miss working *every* day. I love working, so for that, I'm thankful to press on with so many personal projects that I have currently on the go! A cartoon entry to the Cartoon Network, an 8-bit style RPG game, I'm learning Unity, modeling a 3D video game type character, as well I am working on websites for my brother-in-law, as well as one for myself.

When I consider all the things that I have on the go, and how much I love doing all of these things, I'm happy to rest...but seriously, it's time to get back to work!! ;pRuby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-75147912830057879662011-06-05T09:48:00.002-05:002011-06-05T10:23:56.436-05:00Lappie BloggingDoing everything with my new BlackBerry is hilarious...but lacks capital letters on this blog. I wonder why it does that? No worries to that, there's good in each of these devices, and I love them all equally.

Going to continue on with the Durston Honey Farms website today...as a cat walks over my laptop X3 (I can't get angry with them for such cute things; I know they're just trying to get my attention). Not much to finish on the website, then I'm just waiting for copy to add.

Going to get back at it in Maya today as well, with a few more lessons, and then continue modeling Mylo.Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-5860475322461249382011-06-01T10:02:00.003-05:002011-06-01T10:09:45.584-05:00I Tryi really have been...i guess not everyone's going to be good at everything in one lifetime. it's just still so easy to feel superfluously alone. this is why a life-time of training solo has been seemingly useful; at the end of the day, i'm generally always alone. *itteh bitteh self-piteh committeh* i know this isn't always as it seems, but we truly cannot be happy all the time. going to work in 3d today; this should make me smile.Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-62164689767448812152011-05-30T23:38:00.002-05:002011-05-30T23:48:05.683-05:00RPG Game in Full Swingthings are going well with the rpg game. maps are all graphically sound, and with mr. twitcher's testing help, i was able to correct quite a few annoyances. nobody needs to be agrivated while playing games! starting to get tired, but im interested in continuing making interior maps. going to do a pile more, hopefully this will lessen the pile for tomorrow; then characters can be added!Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-54000192140852742572011-05-29T13:44:00.002-05:002011-05-29T13:49:47.004-05:00Wakka Wakka!for as long as i can remember, i've thought my stories should have a functional, gripping story-line...and then i met axe-cop :3 this has broadened my senses as a story-teller; i've decided to run with the randomness that might lead to more interesting tales! serious is good, but i'm far too goofy to run with that for long. with having gotten back into making my rpg game, i'm going to further the story in a more hilarious direction. we've all been subjected to serious: it's time to present more crazy fun!!Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-7957575442006886502011-05-28T11:40:00.002-05:002011-05-28T11:53:44.774-05:00New Days Are Things to Get Excited About!
its a beautiful new day out there...and i'm still unable to phone-post with caps o_o; oh well :3

i'm going to get back on the map making train this morning; i am also going to call the boys' vet to see what all i can do for them, to help make them and my home less threatening to those with cat allergies! yes, once upon a time, i stated i would not date anyone with a cat allergy...buuut he's worth it, so changes shall be made!! :3

i'm feeling mildy dopey and keep flipping back and forth between new projects; i need to buckle down at some point in the day and get back to editing my brother-in-law's website. it's looking super good so far! it's amazing what you can do with only a jquery function! :3

alright, now to locate my motivation, and set it to warp speed!!
Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-37642423780039543712011-05-26T20:57:00.002-05:002011-05-26T21:01:27.062-05:00Blogging from My Phone...yes i never thought i'd see the day when this was possible. i can't capitalize anything, so i'm getting derpy flashbacks from my old, broken phone! ... at least all the punctuation still works, huzzah!

spending my days between uber happiness, job hunting and working on the game i started in rpg maker vx. that's one program i could not live without! the "no capital letters" are making me sad, signing off!
Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-29739505707905912822011-05-23T09:54:00.005-05:002011-05-23T11:22:46.162-05:003D Model - Mylo, ContinuesThe cuteness saga continues this morning as Mylo's face continues to flourish in shape.

Just lined up all center vertices to be straight all the way, up and down. This will help to save time tweaking, later on down the line.

Correcting overlapping faces as I work; again, doing this now will save heaps of time!

Further tweaks; building the rest of the face right now. Mylo started out as a cat-boy design, but I think I'm going to make him a few different heads, to incorporate for different animals. Ooh! And then a female body type, to allow for a wide variety of different characters!

This has been such an inspiring learning process! I used to think a head could be made straight from a cube or sphere - but this way of modeling a character head makes way more sense to me! FTW!

Hmm...It's ironic that both his name and the name of another girl kitty character I'd created for drawing class both start with the letter "M" -- I think "Myra" was her name. =^__^= They're going to be the first two in the series. Hair and clothing objects are going to be separate models to allow for a wider range of character possibilities. Myra had the cutest little pig-tails!

One goal I have this summer is to learn model rigging. These happy cats are going to receive this treatment - and the clothes will need rigging as well.Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-44243754295566725352011-05-23T09:49:00.002-05:002011-05-23T09:53:21.378-05:003D Model - MyloThis is the first sculpted 3D model I've decided to take on, I'm quite proud.
I'll be posting screen shots of my progress throughout my blog.
Model started at 5:00PM

Edge Loops - Important factors in stabilizing the eye and mouth regions.

With having segregated the eyes and mouths in their own separate edge looping areas, the nose has stayed within it's own area, thus becoming it's own component. Even when I was working on the entrance portfolio for the RRC course I'm taking, there was this strange vibe that my works always have to reflect on "realism." I understand where this is coming from; all the 3D that's influenced me has some quality of realism.

As of late, I've been pondering, "why the heck would I want to go that far?" while I'm exuberantly content with being a cartoonist. Thinking long-term, I understand we have to do a major studio project for next year - all the works I've seen from 3D have been so catered to realism...but is that really me? What really drives me crazy (in a good way): the realistic graphics that have taken the new Final Fantasy games? Or the adorable cartoony styles of Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing?

When I was a wee lass, I had a town-full of characters that seemed to evolve on their own; their personalities and adventures were bar-none to anything I was supposed to be doing in my life. Why yes, this did affect me academically, although I always kept my head above water and passed all my courses. I graduated on time, with no issues, but this was always my mega-dream. Since 12 years old, I'd decided I wanted nothing more than to see this world someday in it's own television series.

Thinking long-term and in the now, I'm going to take my modeling in the direction of my cartoon style. I see how important it is to gain more knowledge in the 3D field of realism ... but when it comes to "what we want to do," I know my place in the artistic world. Thus, I'm old, I've got the skills and resources at my finger tips. I've no doubt in my mind this is where I want to be.

So to happily rip off Nike for a mo, "just do it." (And bwahaha!! It is three words in the English dictionary!! You cannot sue me!!...) ...

*run*run*run*slam*vroooom*screeeeech* ...Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-79299682564316545002011-05-07T13:01:00.006-05:002011-05-07T13:05:28.426-05:00ComicsOne done on May 2nd, another May 7th. :3 Seeing all these comics uploaded in friends' facebook status' mucho inspired me to get back on the occasional comicking wagon!

Click each to view in full size!

Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-78034321801732687602011-05-02T11:51:00.002-05:002011-05-02T12:58:49.842-05:00Another Day, Another CoffeeGood day, Super Monday! Although the crate was modeled by my instructor, Brett McLaughlin, I created the texture for it. The reel will showcase, in turntable format, my best models, finishing off with an adorable animated short, of my happy little camper!

Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-64019926091465883562011-04-27T09:48:00.003-05:002011-04-27T13:15:42.520-05:00Good Morning Vietna----aaaah I Mean College <:3Back at the big house, another day. Exciting news to report on, as per public transit. Apparently, if you're listening to harmonica on your iPod, today's your lucky day! Crank up that volume so all your fellow passengers can hear the joyous sounds of the your music. ...If nothing else, this was a refreshing change from hearing rap music :3

Mildly distracted today ... Tummy's feeling a mild tickle. Of course, limbs bend and fold as they're contorting...that's where my new best friend comes in. Can you guess? It starts with "Blend" and ends with me jigging happily, while [real] cats look on in wonderment. "Why is she doing that?!" I can hear them meow. "Our eyes are bleeding!!"

I fully realize this model isn't of any high quality standard -- in fact, I've just started using Maya September 2010. With that being said, I'm quite pleased with how this has come to fruition. The final animation may not even happen prior to Open House, but I'd like to continue working with this little guy through out the summer. Heck, maybe even try to learn rigging on my own?! lol .... Yah, wish me luck ... 8}

Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-57958061578408061032011-04-25T17:11:00.003-05:002011-04-25T17:12:56.041-05:00Still Needs Work...But I've imported him into the scene I created for "Hogan" [DMT Anim2 Assignment].

Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850685865429887217.post-60579410778006491412011-04-25T13:27:00.003-05:002011-04-25T14:21:37.480-05:003D Cat ModelWith tunes like this, how can I lose?! http://bit.ly/gZzM7k [Chrono Trigger].
(My heart just fluttered looking at the renders #nerd....yup, that's my kitty!)

Click to view full size image!...I think I've earned me some breakfast!

Ruby Dragonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08947833522021033846noreply@blogger.com0
