RPG Game in Full Swing

things are going well with the rpg game. maps are all graphically sound, and with mr. twitcher's testing help, i was able to correct quite a few annoyances. nobody needs to be agrivated while playing games! starting to get tired, but im interested in continuing making interior maps. going to do a pile more, hopefully this will lessen the pile for tomorrow; then characters can be added!

Wakka Wakka!

for as long as i can remember, i've thought my stories should have a functional, gripping story-line...and then i met axe-cop :3 this has broadened my senses as a story-teller; i've decided to run with the randomness that might lead to more interesting tales! serious is good, but i'm far too goofy to run with that for long. with having gotten back into making my rpg game, i'm going to further the story in a more hilarious direction. we've all been subjected to serious: it's time to present more crazy fun!!

New Days Are Things to Get Excited About!

its a beautiful new day out there...and i'm still unable to phone-post with caps o_o; oh well :3
i'm going to get back on the map making train this morning; i am also going to call the boys' vet to see what all i can do for them, to help make them and my home less threatening to those with cat allergies! yes, once upon a time, i stated i would not date anyone with a cat allergy...buuut he's worth it, so changes shall be made!! :3
i'm feeling mildy dopey and keep flipping back and forth between new projects; i need to buckle down at some point in the day and get back to editing my brother-in-law's website. it's looking super good so far! it's amazing what you can do with only a jquery function! :3
alright, now to locate my motivation, and set it to warp speed!!

Blogging from My Phone...

spending my days between uber happiness, job hunting and working on the game i started in rpg maker vx. that's one program i could not live without! the "no capital letters" are making me sad, signing off!

3D Model - Mylo, Continues

The cuteness saga continues this morning as Mylo's face continues to flourish in shape.
  • Just lined up all center vertices to be straight all the way, up and down. This will help to save time tweaking, later on down the line.
  • Correcting overlapping faces as I work; again, doing this now will save heaps of time!
Further tweaks; building the rest of the face right now. Mylo started out as a cat-boy design, but I think I'm going to make him a few different heads, to incorporate for different animals. Ooh! And then a female body type, to allow for a wide variety of different characters!

This has been such an inspiring learning process! I used to think a head could be made straight from a cube or sphere - but this way of modeling a character head makes way more sense to me! FTW!

Hmm...It's ironic that both his name and the name of another girl kitty character I'd created for drawing class both start with the letter "M" -- I think "Myra" was her name. =^__^= They're going to be the first two in the series. Hair and clothing objects are going to be separate models to allow for a wider range of character possibilities. Myra had the cutest little pig-tails!

One goal I have this summer is to learn model rigging. These happy cats are going to receive this treatment - and the clothes will need rigging as well.

3D Model - Mylo

This is the first sculpted 3D model I've decided to take on, I'm quite proud.
I'll be posting screen shots of my progress throughout my blog.
Model started at 5:00PM

Edge Loops - Important factors in stabilizing the eye and mouth regions.

With having segregated the eyes and mouths in their own separate edge looping areas, the nose has stayed within it's own area, thus becoming it's own component. Going slow, but Mylo's coming to life, none the less.

Apart

Hey, it's okay to fall apart some days, right? It's not like I have anything better to do. *chuckles* I'm going to find a good job over the summer, although it may take some time. I'm going to start posting ads on Kijiji.ca to show case some of my groovy web skills; this is one outlet I hadn't even considered.

This is why we need to embark on new adventures...you never know what good is going to come from things :3

Toon Character Modeling

Ok, there's a goal, I've set for myself. ...I'm going to try to not touch any web today, if I can help it :3 I think I maybe slept 4 hours last night. That's brutal! I just couldn't sleep, but that's fine by me! I managed to get a full website estimate and contract finished this morning, as well as I fixed the issues with the Durston Honey Farms website!!

Now to play/learn/I need a coffee!!

PS. Cat on arm, too long, makes for sleepy limbs X3 .:zzzz:.

Cartoons VS Real-Time

In the years that I've been working in 3D, I've seeded this bizarre expectation in my brain: everything should look realistic. Even when I was working on the entrance portfolio for the RRC course I'm taking, there was this strange vibe that my works always have to reflect on "realism." I understand where this is coming from; all the 3D that's influenced me has some quality of realism.

As of late, I've been pondering, "why the heck would I want to go that far?" while I'm exuberantly content with being a cartoonist. Thinking long-term, I understand we have to do a major studio project for next year - all the works I've seen from 3D have been so catered to realism...but is that really me? What really drives me crazy (in a good way): the realistic graphics that have taken the new Final Fantasy games? Or the adorable cartoony styles of Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing?

When I was a wee lass, I had a town-full of characters that seemed to evolve on their own; their personalities and adventures were bar-none to anything I was supposed to be doing in my life. Why yes, this did affect me academically, although I always kept my head above water and passed all my courses. I graduated on time, with no issues, but this was always my mega-dream. Since 12 years old, I'd decided I wanted nothing more than to see this world someday in it's own television series.

Thinking long-term and in the now, I'm going to take my modeling in the direction of my cartoon style. I see how important it is to gain more knowledge in the 3D field of realism ... but when it comes to "what we want to do," I know my place in the artistic world. Thus, I'm old, I've got the skills and resources at my finger tips. I've no doubt in my mind this is where I want to be.

So to happily rip off Nike for a mo, "just do it." (And bwahaha!! It is three words in the English dictionary!! You cannot sue me!!...) ...

Another Day, Another Coffee

Good day, Super Monday! You're just the person I wanted to talk to, listen, I've been thinking...
I've been out of school for an entire weekend, and already I'm feeling the sting of being nonproductive.

...Whoa?! I was just about to post about "wanting to find a job super soon," and I was just called in for an interview today for 3PM!! :3 I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! And I shall work my butt off to be a groovy asset to their company!! :D
